AGIR Blackbird: Technical Specifications and Features

The AGIR Blackbird wing, designed for single tank configurations, is a single bladder buoyancy compensator. The outer shell is made of durable Cordura 1000, while the inner air cell is made of Nylon 400, a material extremely resistant to punctures. The inflator features a high-flow, highly durable corrugated hose, finished with a K-style inflator head.

The overpressure relief valve (OPV) is located at the bottom of the wing. It is equipped with a nylon pull cord that allows for manual opening even when wearing thick gloves, minimizing the risk of entanglement.

The 360-degree shape of the air cell allows gas to move easily from side to side. This ensures a simple, quick, and effective release of excess air. The valve can be used to control buoyancy while maintaining a horizontal position, thus minimizing diver movement.

The Backplate

The backplate is crafted with the utmost care and features additional holes for the waist strap, allowing for adjustment of the harness position or attachment of AGIR weight pockets. Thanks to the two lower slots of different widths, a 40 or 50 mm crotch strap can be mounted.

The pronounced curvature of the backplate prevents bolts, even longer ones, from damaging the wetsuit (dry or wet), greatly enhancing comfort. An additional advantage is the possibility of mounting nuts with plastic coating, which facilitate tightening the backplate to the tank.
